Český Šternberk Castle towers on a rock over the Sázava River. Originally a 13th century Gothic castle, it was gradually rebuilt into the chateau aristocratic residence it is today. During the restitution period, after the fall of communism, the castle was returned to Šternberk House. Despite this, it is still open to public.
