Vila Tugendhat
Tugendhat Villa, the gem of functionalist architecture, is located in Brno. The Villa was designed in 1928 by Ludwig Miese van der Rohe, who is considered as the father of contemporary architecture. The architect used the high budget and he was allowed to work creatively while designing this building. He also designed the furniture inside. The most modern technologies of that time were used in this building. The building is noticeable for loosely connected rooms with large windows, which can be stuck into the floors and so they connect the space with the surrounding garden. This is one of the best works of this architect, which have been UNESCO - listed.
