Karlštejn

Charles IV had built Karlštejn castle as the most important sight of the whole empire and he also supervised the construction work personally. Part of the castle is the Saint Cross Chapel, famous for a huge collection of panel paintings by Master Teodorik. The Czech coronation jewells had been deposited for two hundred centuries and even today you can see the Saint Wencesla's crown replika. The castle is also famous because the popular Czech film musical "The night at Karlštejn" was shot there. Further you can see magical limestone quarries called America. The biggest of them reminds us of Wild West landscape.
